Placchetta a scudo lobato raffigurante Allegoria dell'Unione. Esergo vuoto. Foro in alto.
Historical-Criticism news
L'interpretazione del soggetto come Allegoria dell'Unione è dovuta a Molinier (Molinier 1886). Maclagan e Pope-Hennessy hanno osservato che la scena però non può essere accettata come un'illustrazione della favola di Esopo (Maclagan 1924, Pope-Hennessy 1965). E' da ritenere più probabile che arrivi da Plutarco.
La placchetta esiste anche in forma circolare, l'originale è però secondo Molinier la versione a scudo lobato (Molinier 1886).
