Description
Busto in porcellana bianca raffigurante Adriano imperatore romano. Composta di due parti, busto e piedistallo, quest'ultimo decorato in oro. bordi del piedistallo sono in oro.

A dispetto del doppio titulus il personaggio raffigurato non è l'imperatore Antonino Pio, bensì Adriano, secondo il tipo documentato nel busto Farnese conservato al Museo Archeologico di Napoli o affini. Il modellato è raffinato, con tenui passaggi chiaroscurali e delicato rilievo, con notevole aderenza agli originali antichi. Cartella con nome e modanature della base profilate in oro. Si segnala per confronto un busto di Giove Ammone della manifattura di Doccia conservato al Victoria & Albert Museum, inv. C.287-1915 (Balleri in Frescobaldi Malenchini 2013, pp. 72-73, n. 51), innestato su un basamento Cozzi identico a questo.
