Description
Calice con largo piede a disco, fusto a balaustro con due nodi, coppa emisferica ampia e poco profonda.
Historical-Criticism news
Tipico esemplare dei calici muranesi del Cinquecento, eleganti ed essenziali, caratterizzati dal gambo a balaustro, soffiato a parte e poi unito a caldo alla coppa e al piede, solitamente a disco. Il "bevante" può presentare diverse fogge, in questo caso una coppa ampia e poco profonda, secondo un modello diffuso prevalentemente nel tardo secolo. Un calice di forma molto simile è raffigurato nel Bacco realizzato verso il 1596 da Caravaggio, oggi agli Uffizi.
