La Maison Neyret Frères, produttrice di nastri tessuti con la meccanica Jacquard fin dal 1832 a Saint-Etienne, si specializzò nell'ultimo decennio del secolo nella realizzazione di immagini tessute, di soggetto sacro, storico, scene di genere. L'immagine della Crocifissione fu messa in produzione nel 1902.
