Description
Crespina o coppa con decorazione a rilievo, con al centro un cuore trafitto da frecce sopra un braciere su cui brucia una fiamma. Dipinto in blu e lustro rosso e oro.
Historical-Criticism news
Il vasellame con decorazione a rilievo, ottenuta mediante pressatura in stampi e dipinta con lustri oro e rubino, imitava prototipi metallici lavorati a sbalzo. Le coppe di Gubbio di questo genere venogono chiamate "abborchiate".
Qui il braciere argente sotto il cuore trafitto fa parte della simbologia consueta sul cosiddetto "vasellame d'amore", spesso usato come dono per fidanzamenti o matrimoni.
