Description
Pendente a forma globulare in corniola arancione forato da un grande foro passante di diametro 2 mm; una faccia piana è incisa a tecnica mista: il corpo è intagliato a bulino, mentre zampete, coda e orecchie sono incisi con una punta fine. Tracce di lavorazione sulla superficie. Il motivo raffigurato è un leprotto che balza a zampette protese. Corta coda, lunghe orecchie tese indietro. Alcuni tratti schematici indicano il pelame.

Confronta il soggetto con una gemma sasanide in A.D.H. Bivar, kushan and Kushano-Sasanian Seals and Kushano-Sasanian Coins: Sasanian Seals in the British Museum, London 1968, tav. 20 n. 8. un'altra interpretazione è proposta da R. Gyselen, Catalogue des sceaux, camées et bulles sasanides de la BiBiothèque Nationale et du Musée du Louvre, Paris 1993, n. 30.M.19. dove il soggetto è descritto quale antilope.
