Il battitoio può essere confrontato, per il coronamento a baldacchino in alto, con il picchiotto del portale esterno del castello di Issogne, acquistato da V. Avondo quando si trovava "su un portone davanti all'uscita del chiostro del Duomo". (B. Orlandoni, 1996).
