Per notizie storico - critiche e bibliografia cfr. scheda 0034/ORI. L'oggetto fa parte del nucleo di ori Gualino pervenuto nel 1934 al Museo Civico d'Arte Antica databile, tranne poche eccezioni, tra il IV e il III secolo a. C. (cfr. scheda 0034/ORI). L'orecchino, formato da un gancio ornato da un puttino attualmente privo di ali, fa parte di una tipologia diffusa in epoca ellenistica ed è stilisticamente affine ad esempi del tardo IV secolo (R. A. Higgins, "Greek and Roman Jewellery", Londra 1961, p. 172, tav. 48 f).
