Description
Il fazzoletto, di grandi dimensioni, è decorato lungo i lati da un bordo in sfilato che ai quattro angoli crea una rete di fondo a maglie rotondeggianti delimitate da quattro piccoli riquadri.

Le grandi dimensioni dell’oggetto e la rifinitura semplice, priva dei caratteristici riferimenti naturalistici, fanno pensare ad un fazzoletto maschile, collocabile agli inizi del Novecento, allorché quelli femminili sono molto piccoli. Il lavoro, semplificazione dell’antica tradizione della sfilatura, veniva eseguito in Brasile e in Portogallo, come documenta un esemplare simile conservato al Musée d’Art e Historique di Bruxelles (M. Risselim Stenebrugeen 1980, p. 94, fig. 58).
