Description
Miniatura dipinta raffigurante un giovane uomo dai capelli incipriati, vestito con una redingote blu, un gilè bianco a righe bruno e una cravatta bianca, sfondo blu. Tergo con bordi in smalto blu e parte centrale con capelli e cifre "EGL" in brillanti. Cornice con perle incastonate.
Historical-Criticism news
Shirreff studiò alla Royal Academy e presso Thomas Burgess, poi si specializzò nella miniatura e nel ritratto a pastello. Espose con frequenza alla Royal Academy dal 1771 al 1831. Nel 1794 fu attivo a Bath, prima di raggiungere Londra nel 1809.
