Miniatura dipinta raffigurante una donna in abito blu con colletto di pizzo, i capelli bruni pettinati a bande, sullo sfondo un drappo rosso e uno scorcio di cielo nuvoloso.

Gandolfi fu allievo di Giovanni Battista Biscarra all'Accademia Albertina di Torino. Pittore di corte, eseguì un ritratto di Vittorio Emanuele II. Insegnò all'Accademia e in seguitofu direttore alla Galleria d'arte della città.
