Description
Miatura dipinta raffigurante una donna in abito nero, baverina e cuffia di trina rosa, collana di perle, tiene fra le mani un ventaglio, seduta su una poltrona rossa, sfondo verde scuro. Cornice originale in bronzo dorato.
Historical-Criticism news
Rochard entrò all'Ecole des Beaux Arts di Parigi nel 1813, studiò con Mérimée, Aubry e Isabey, ma fu influenzato soprattutto dalla scuola inglese. Nel 1846, a Bruxelles, espose al Salon dal 1848 al 1869. Soggiornò a Parigi nel 1826 e nel 1852, quando presentò le sue creazioni al Salon; partecipò anche all'esposizione Universale del 1861.
