L'esistenza di una fabbrica lionese per la produzione di peltri di proprietà del pressoché ignoto Humbert Mètra è attestata dal Tardy (Les ètains franòais, Paris 1959, p. 442) che riporta soltanto il cognome del fabbricante di peltri ed un punzone che non corrisponde a quello incusso nell'esemplare del Museo.
La datazione è deducibile dal confronto con materiale in peltro dell'età di Luigi XIV (cfr. P. BOUCAUD-C. FREGNAC, Les ètains français, Fribourg 1978, p. 220, ill. n. 320).
