Description
Quarzo-ametista violetto, di forma ovale, tagliato piano-parallelo a sezione troncoconica, lavorato a tecnica mista: abbozzo ottenuto con un trapano a punta sferica, mentre le incisioni del rametto, piumaggio, becco sono ottenute con una punta più fine. Lucidatura finale. Tracce di lavorazione. Il soggetto raffigurato è un volatile ad ali chiuse, con corta coda leggermente aperta. Testa arrotondata e con il lungo becco trattiene un rametto.

Un confronto puntuale si nota nella glitica di Aquileia (G. Sena Chiesa, Gemme del Museo Nazionale di Aquileia, Padova 1966, n. 1316) e in generale nella glittica romana ( G. Richter, Metropolitan Museum of art, New York, Catalogue of Engrawed gems, Greek, Etruscan and Roman, Roma, 1956, n. 525).
