Proveniente da corredo funerario di una tomba cinese del periodo T' Ang, 620 - 907 d. C., rinvenuta nella provincia dell' Honan presso il Fiume Giallo. Statuina raffigurante un zhemmu shou (bestie sterminatrici di tombe). Animale fantastico assiso sulle zampe posteriori. Testa felina, ali e corni sulla testa e sul dorso. Basso basamento a forma di scudo. Tracce di colore rosso e bruno. Ricomposto da più frammenti.
Dal 2008 l'opera si trova presso il MAO (Museo d'Arte Orientale) di Torino, all' Inv. cc/97 (rif. Inv. Top. 240).
