Proveniente da un corredo funerario di tomba cinese del periodo T' Ang (620 - 907 d. C.), rinvenuta nella provincia dell' Honan presso il Fiume Giallo. Statuina raffigurante un zhemmu shou (bestie sterminatrici di tombe). Animale fantastico assiso sulle gambe posteriori. Testa felina, ali e corni sulla testa e sul dorso. Basso basamento a forma di scudo. Tracce di colore rosso e bruno.
Dal 2008 l'opera si trova presso il MAO (Museo d'Arte Orientale) di Torino, all'Inv. cc/96 (rif. Inv. Top. 239)
